  Ali Beryani’s research field is Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS). He focuses on Stormwater Control Measures (SCM) and works with bioretention (or biofilter) systems for stormwater treatment. Ali carries out a number of field studies on already established bioretention facilities in Sweden monitoring pollutants removal of a wide range of contaminants such as organic pollutants, nutrients and suspended solids. Ali holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources (M.Sc.) from University of Tehran, Iran. During his previous research, he surveyed the application and risk of nanoparticles in soil and water treatment.

She also completed her bachelor and master degrees in Civil Engineering from the same university.   Henry Beral, doctor since 2023 in biological sciences, is doing his post-doctoral fellowship at the Catalan Institute for Water Research (Spain). As specialist of blue-green infrastructure, his research focuses on the decontamination of water by plants. Currently, his work concerns greywater treated in greenwall, and previously during his doctorate at the University of Montreal (Canada), focusing on runoff water treated by bioretention cells. Henry is a young water professional who has already won several excellence awards, highlighting his commitment to water research.
