  Dr. Eban Bean is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist of Urban Water Resources Engineering at the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL) in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. He is a faculty member in the Center for Land Use Efficiency, and a licensed professional engineer. Dr. Bean’s research and extension programs focus on urban stormwater mitigation, water conservation, and development of water resource monitoring platforms.

  My name is Vasileios Chrysochoidis, and I come from from Greece. I pursued my bachelor's degree in Chemistry at Aristotle University before relocating to Copenhagen, Denmark, for my master's in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. My master's thesis was conducted in the Department of DTU Sustain, where I continued as a research assistant for the subsequent two years. During this time, my focus centered on modeling processes in wastewater treatment. In December 2022, I started my PhD journey, delving into the world of Urban Drainage Systems. Specifically, my research is focused on modeling water quality of Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs).

  Joke De Meester is a PhD researcher at the university of KU Leuven, department of civil engineering Hydraulics and Geotechics. Her focus is on defining water availability and she has a particular interest in the impact of human activities on the hydrological system. For this presentation a computational efficient method is proposed to assess the impact of combined sewer overflows on the river system in a data-scarce area.

  After obtaining a PhD in Physics at the University of Antwerp, the speaker has been working for more than 10 years as a researcher in Aquafin NV on different topics including hydrogen sulfide induced corrosion, combined sewer overflows, nature based solutions and water quality modelling.
