  Henry Beral, doctor since 2023 in biological sciences, is doing his post-doctoral fellowship at the Catalan Institute for Water Research (Spain). As specialist of blue-green infrastructure, his research focuses on the decontamination of water by plants. Currently, his work concerns greywater treated in greenwall, and previously during his doctorate at the University of Montreal (Canada), focusing on runoff water treated by bioretention cells. Henry is a young water professional who has already won several excellence awards, highlighting his commitment to water research.

  Suna became a part of the Urban Water Engineering group at Luleå University of Technology in April 2022. She holds a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering from Dokuz Eylul University in Turkey. She furthered her education with an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, specializing in environmental modeling and water resources, from Drexel University in Philadelphia, USA. Suna's research primarily focuses on the potential impact of stormwater runoff on receiving water bodies. Her work involves sampling across urban water bodies in three Swedish cities: Uppsala, Norrköping, and Söderköping. Her research aims to understand the occurrence of compounds in rivers, the changes in compound concentrations along water courses (from rural to densely populated areas), and to investigate the potential impact of stormwater runoff on the receiving water bodies. Analysis includes organic contaminants, microplastics, metals, nutrients, and physicochemical parameters.

  Dr. Yiqi Wu is a Post-doctoral Research Associate in Civil Engineering at the University of Sheffield. She has been collaborating closely with Network Rail on projects related to UK railway drainage assets. Yiqi has developed degradation and performance models that enable a better understanding of the impact of both asset conditions and future climate change on drainage performance. Her work extends to the development of a comprehensive whole-life cost framework, aiding in the effective management of assets by providing proactive intervention strategies to mitigate flooding risks and minimise overall life cycle costs. Additionally, Yiqi is actively involved in various research projects investigating the risk of railway drainage related failures using Machine Learning techniques.
