  Nestor Mancipe is a Doctor in Environmental Engineering with 18 years of professional, teaching and research experience in water resources management through mathematical models, geographic information systems and remote sensors. Currently, he is professor of the Civil and Agricultural Engineering department of Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá campus. His research interests are: [1] physical and mathematical modeling of sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS); [2] development/application of environmental sensors and remote sensors to monitor water resources; [3] Integrated hydrological/hydraulic/water quality modeling based on GIS and remote sensing for water resources management; [4] Physical and mathematical modeling of transportation, distribution, treatment and reuse systems of water resources; and [5] development of tools for planning, administration and monitoring of water resources.

  I, Laura Waldner, completed my bachelor's degree in Environmental Science at ETH Zurich in 2021. Currently, I am in the final stages of my master's studies in the same field, with a focus on Biogeochemistry and pollutant dynamics. I am currently working on my master's thesis at Eawag under the supervision of Lena Mutzner and Pierre Lechevallier, exploring the dynamics of organic chemicals in sewer systems and sensor measurements that can possibly serve as proxies.
