  Since October of 2021, Reginald Alvarado joined as a Ph.D. student the the Urban Drainage research group at the Institute of Environmental Engineering (ISA) at RWTH University. At ISA he is conducting joint research with the Institute of Highway Engineering (ISAC) investigating the hydraulic properties of a new permeable pavement bonded with a novel polyurethane binder with improved mechanical properties compared to the traditional asphalt permeable pavement. Reginald's doctoral studies are funded by the DAAD/BECAS Chile 2021 program for four years. He earned his Civil Engineering professional degree from the Federico Santa María Technical University (Valparaíso, Chile). With over six years of professional experience, Reginald has actively contributed to diverse projects as a project engineer for consulting firms and water-wastewater companies, showcasing expertise in hydraulic conduction, highway-urban drainage, and flood management.

  Emma Girot is a first-year PhD student at the DEEP laboratory of INSA Lyon, France. Her research explores the relationship between operation and maintenance practices and long-term performances of stromwater control measures (SCMs). It aims to propose a multicriteria decision aid method to assess the performance of SCMs (hydrological, environmental, social and economic) and the impacts (positive and negative) of management strategies for the utility manager, the city, and its inhabitants. Her work is part of the GestPatPluvO research project which focuses on sustainable and multi-scale asset management for stormwater control measures.

  Franz Tscheikner-Gratl has a Master in Civil Engineering (2011) and a PhD in Technical Sciences (2016) from the University of Innsbruck. After his PhD he was part of the Quantifying Uncertainty in Integrated Catchment Studies (QUICS) FP7 Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) at TU Delft. In 2019 he joined the Water and Wastewater Group at NTNU. In 2013 he was awarded with the Eduard-Wallnöfer-Price of appreciation of the Tyrolean Industry and in 2016 with the Award of Excellence of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy. He is currently secretary of the working group for Urban drainage asset management (UDAM) of the Joint committee on Urban Drainage (JCUD), where he is also a part of the leadership team. Furthermore, he is an active reviewer for several scientific journals and a member of the editorial board of Urban Water Journal. Research interests: Rehabilitation and adaptation management of urban (water) infrastructure Urban water management Sewer asset management Decision making processes in environmental engineering Hydrodynamic urban drainage modelling Uncertainties in modelling Deterioration processes of urban water infrastructure Interactions between multiple urban infrastructures.

  Jurijs Kondratenko has more than 20 years experience in urban planning and more than 10 years experience with planning, outline design and policy planning for stormwater nature-based solutions. Jurijs is also a first year PhD student with Riga Technical University, Water Research and Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory. Jurijs' research and professional interest is creating 'a perfect sponge', nature based solutions that would be effective both for managing extreme rainfall as well as for water retention and evapotranspiration to contribute to urban heat island effect mitigation.
